Family law litigation can be expensive, prolonged, and agonizing for the parties. Therefore, all Courts in the State of Florida require that parties in the majority of Florida family law cases attend at least one mediation session with a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator before a judge or magistrate hears the evidence in the case.

This mediator is a neutral and impartial person whose work is to meet with the parties to determine the possibilities of settling their case without further fighting or litigation. A Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator can mediate between the parties before a case is filed in Court or after that case has been filed. To be a certified Family Law Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court a person must take intense courses of at least forty hours, observe at least eight mediations, and have educational qualifications and good moral character, and Attorney Alejandro R.
